Six Harbour Walk - 2011

The walk started at Portsoy Harbour.  Over 500 walkers enjoyed the spring sunshine on the Rotary Club of Buckie's annual Six Harbour Walk on 1 May 2011. The walk covers a dramatic 15 mile stretch of the Banffshire Coast, taking in the harbours of Portsoy, Sandend, Cullen, Portknockie, Findochty and Buckie. The route traverses cliff tops, crosses sandy beaches and coves, and runs through the coastal villages.
Walkers this year were raising funds for four charities:

Quarriers, who provide practical support for adults with disabiliies, children and families struggling in the face of everyday issues relating to disability, poverty or addiction and people with epilepsy and real serious needs....transforming lives!

CLAN, who offer support to anyone affected by any cancer - patients, family members and carers.

ShelterBox, which is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worlwide. £590 was donated - enough to purchase a complete ShelterBox.

Local youth Organisations & Charities. Donations where given to a number of local organisations to support their valuable voluntary work.  The 2011 recipients are pictured below.

Thank you to the magnificent walkers who gave up their day to support these most worthwhile charities!
